Extend Sticker Label Die-Cutter Lifespan: Daily Maintenance & Troubleshooting Guide

2025-07-10

Automatic Sticker Label Paper Digital Printing and Die-Cutting Machine is a high-precision and high-efficiency production equipment. Its long-term stable operation depends on scientific maintenance. Reasonable maintenance can not only reduce the failure rate and improve production efficiency, but also significantly extend the service life of the equipment.

  1. ProactiveMaintenance Protocol

Daily:

- Clean print heads/cutters with lint-free cloth (NO alcohol)

- Verify ink levels to prevent nozzle clogging

- Lubricate rails with silicone-based grease

Monthly:

- Flush nozzles with specialized cleaning fluid

- Calibrate sensors & tension systems

Use a dust-free cloth or a soft brush to clean the dust, oil and label residue from the body, guide rails, print head, cutter and other parts. Avoid using alcohol or strong corrosive detergents when cleaning to prevent damage to precision parts. Check the ink supply system regularly to ensure that there is enough ink to avoid nozzle clogging due to lack of ink. Check whether the ink path is unobstructed to prevent bubbles or impurities from affecting the printing quality. Observe whether the cutter is sharp to avoid blunt knives causing label burrs or paper jams. Clean the glue stains and paper scraps on the blade regularly to prevent cutting deviations. Check the label feeding system to ensure smooth feeding of the label backing paper to avoid deviation or jamming due to uneven tension. Use special lubricants (such as silicone-based grease) to lubricate moving parts such as guide rails and screws to reduce mechanical wear.

  1. Regular maintenance

Perform regular maintenance on the nozzle to prevent the ink from drying up and clogging the nozzle hole. When the machine is shut down for a long time, you can use a special cleaning fluid to soak the nozzle. Check whether the belts, gears, and bearings of the transmission system are worn and replace them if necessary. Adjust the tension of the motor timing belt to prevent slipping or loosening. Regularly calibrate the print head, cutter, and sensor to ensure printing and cutting accuracy. Check the servo motor encoder to prevent positioning deviation. Check whether the power and data cables are firmly connected to avoid poor contact and equipment abnormalities. Clean the cooling fan to prevent overheating and damage to the circuit board.

  1. Long-term shutdown maintenance (not used for more than 1 month)

① Deep-clean ink paths → Apply nozzle moisturizer

② Unplug power → Use anti-static dust cover

When the machine is shut down for a long time, clean the equipment thoroughly to remove all residual ink, glue, and paper scraps to prevent clogging of the nozzle or mechanical parts after drying. After deep cleaning, install the nozzle protection cover or inject moisturizing liquid. Turn off the power supply and unplug the plug when placing the device to avoid lightning strikes or voltage fluctuations that damage the circuit. Cover the device with a dust cover and store it in a dry, constant temperature environment.

  1. Common faults and preventive measures

Fault phenomenon

Possible causes

Solutions

Blurred printing/broken lines

Nozzle clogged, insufficient ink

Perform nozzle cleaning and check ink path

Label cutting unevenly

Blade wear, mechanical deviation

Replace blade and recalibrate cutting mechanism

Paper feed deviation/paper jam

Sensor failure, uneven tension

Clean sensor and adjust paper feed system

Equipment abnormal noise

Bearing lacks oil, belt is loose

Lubricate bearing and adjust belt tension

  1. Suggestions for extending the life of the equipment
  • Use original consumables (ink, blades, rubber rollers, etc.) to avoid inferior accessories damaging the equipment
  • Regularly train operators to avoid mechanical damage caused by human operating errors
  • Establish maintenance records, track equipment status, and discover potential problems in advance
  • Keep in touch with suppliers to obtain the latest firmware upgrades and technical support
  • Use OEM consumables (blades/ink/rollers)
  • Monthly firmware updates
