Troubleshooting Common Problems with Printing and Packaging Cutting Machines

Printing and Packaging Cutting Machines (such as cutting machines and CNC cutting machines) may experience various problems during operation, affecting production efficiency and product quality. The following are common problems and their solutions:

1. Inaccurate Cutting
Problem Symptoms: Cutting position deviation, large dimensional errors, and uneven edges. Possible Causes and Solutions:
Tool Wear: Regularly inspect the die cutter and replace it if severely worn.
Insecure Material Fixation: Adjust the platen or vacuum system to ensure the material is flat and not shifted.
Loose Mechanical Components: Check belts, guide rails, and lead screws for looseness, recalibrate, and lubricate.
Software Parameter Errors: Recalibrate the cutting path and ensure that the CAD/CAM file matches the machine parameters.
Sensor Drift: Clean the optical sensor and recalibrate the zero point.

2. The Machine Fails to Start or Stops Suddenly
Problem Symptoms: No power response, control system error, or sudden stop during operation. Possible Causes and Solutions:
Power Failure: Check the power cord, fuse, and voltage stability (380V/220V).
Emergency Stop Button Triggered: Reset the emergency stop switch and check that the safety door is closed.
Servo Motor/Driver Failure: Restart the system. If the alarm persists, contact the manufacturer for repair.
Overheat Protection: Check the cooling system (air/water cooling) and clean the cooling fan.
Program Stuck: Restart the control system and reload the cutting program.

3. Feeding Abnormality (Paper Jam, Offset)
Problem Symptoms: Poor material feeding, inconsistent feed lengths, or multiple sheets being fed simultaneously.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
Feed Roller Worn or Slipping: Clean or replace the feed roller and adjust the clamping force.
Sensor Dirty or Faulty: Clean the photoelectric sensor and check alignment.
Static Adhesion: Install a static elimination device (such as an ion blower).
Program Setting Error: Check the feed pitch parameters to ensure they match the material length.

4. Excessive Machine Noise or Vibration
Problem Symptoms: Unusual noises (metal friction, clashing sounds) and noticeable vibration during operation.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
Bearings/guideways lacking lubricant: Add lubricant (such as lithium-based grease) and clean the guideways of debris.
Loose screws or belts: Tighten mechanical components and check timing belt tension.
Machine not leveled: Re-level the machine and install shock-absorbing pads.

5. Software or Control System Malfunction
Problem Symptoms: Unresponsive touchscreen, program errors, file import failures.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
System freeze: Restart the controller and check for proper heat dissipation.
USB/transmission port malfunction: Replace the data cable and check file format compatibility (e.g., DXF, AI).
Software version mismatch: Upgrade or reinstall the control software.
Virus or data corruption: Use genuine software and regularly back up parameters.
